Ann Kono is a highly accomplished C-Suite executive, Management Committee Member, and Fund Board Member with a remarkable track record in increasing enterprise value for management, operating, and portfolio companies. With over two decades of experience in the financial services industry, Ann brings deep practical finance exposure and a global functional leadership perspective to her roles.
Throughout her career, Ann has excelled in managing organizations through pre- and post-IPO phases, successfully integrating numerous M&A transactions, and surpassing target synergies and milestones in every transaction she has overseen. Notably, in her last two roles, she played a pivotal role in designing and implementing operating, risk, and technology systems that fueled exponential growth.
Ann’s expertise extends to her board positions, where she serves as an independent director at Siepe, LLC, a private fintech platform, and as a board member and audit committee member at Sabra Healthcare Real Estate Investment Trust (Nasdaq: SBRA). She has also contributed her fund, alternative asset, technology, and governance experience to the Treehouse Real Estate Investment Trust board.
During her tenure at Ares Management LLC (NYSE: ARES), a large alternative asset management and private equity firm, Ann played a vital role in its transformative growth journey. As part of the foundational team, she contributed to its evolution from a domestic credit firm to a globally diversified public asset manager, witnessing assets grow from $18 billion to $150 billion. Ann led the design and implementation of key operational infrastructure, leaving a lasting impact on the organization.
